The North London Walking Club has been in existence since 1985 and has from its outset been a member of the British Walking Federation whose ideal of promoting 'non-competitive sport for all' has been a central aim of the Club.
Almost all of the special events organised by the club have had a charitable theme whether it be for a local cause (London Ambulance Service, Whittington Hospital Premature Baby Unit) or a National one (Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, British Heart Foundation).
In addition to special events the Club has also organised a selection of Permanent Trails to fit in with the IVV award scheme (For information about the award scheme check under British Walking Federation IVV). Which can either be participated in on an individual basis or as part of a group for which the Club can provide appropriately qualified tour guides.
The club also accepts bookings for tours in the London area for those groups which are not part of the IVV award scheme. The Club only uses qualified tourist guides and can cater for the following languages, subject to availability:
Czechoslovakian, French, German, Hungarian, Russian, Spanish (but please try to correspond with the club in English as this helps the Club to deal with you more quickly).
